Great spot!!
RTC was a little hidden gem, I'm glad I booked it for my daughter's orientation weekend at Schreiner. All of the hotels in town raise rates for visit/orientation weekends (I know it happens everywhere), and I booked my cabin for less than the cheapest hotel room I found! They are also pet friendly (mostly dogs, check the details), which is a huge plus. It saves a ton on boarding costs I would typically spend, which is close to $50/night. I wish I would've found this place the first weekend we came to visit Kerrville & the university.
I rented cabin 1. It was super clean, updated, comfortable, and stayed cold with the ac unit. The lighting was good inside the cabin and the outdoor porch and carport lights all worked. I loved having the carport, you definitely wouldn't have that at a hotel...small side note - I couldn't tell from the online pictures that my vehicle wouldn't be completely covered (jeep grand cherokee L), but it's a cover nonetheless! My only minor "complaint" would be the road noise, which was clearly stated about the cabin. It wasn't a deal breaker, it was just a little louder than I expected at night. I was able to basically drown it out with my travel fan (no ceiling fans). If you have a white noise machine, that would also probably help. Other nice touches were the complimentary amenities such as wifi, towels & linens, toilet paper, kleenex, the in-shower shampoo/conditioner/body wash dispenser, hair dryer, clothes rack & hangers, k-cups, creamer pods...and I'm sure I'm forgetting some things. I will also mention that I didn't think about bringing water for the Keurig, so friendly heads up there. The mini fridge worked great.
As a whole, the property outside was cute & well maintained, and was already cleared of debris and damage from the recent flooding. There was pretty easily accessible river entry (concrete stairs down to the water). Not being local to the area, I'm not sure if this is due to the recent floods - but the water was flowing pretty fast. If you're looking for a calm spot to hang out in the water during the day, especially with children, it might not be quite what you're expecting. Regardless, you could probably still set up a chair and hang out 😎
Check in & check out was easy and contactless, with clear communication prior to my visit. It's nice that they offer add-ons such as early check-in, late check-out, mid-stay cleaning, etc., & the options were easy to find/add on the invoice communications that I received from the property. I also think it's cool you have the option to have parties/gatherings, and they even offer a rental space if you need a larger area. The site was quiet while I was there though, it was perfect.
Overall, the property was great! I'll think twice about staying at another over-priced hotel for sure. I hope my review was helpful to someone. Book it! 😊

Nice stay
There were quite a few spiders in our cabin, but nothing a quick swiffer couldn’t take care of. Behind the beds definitely needs to be cleaned more often, though, to prevent spiders/spider webs building up. It’s a great location, and the unit was clean. Easy to get in, and it was very convenient to have the option of a late checkout! I will definitely be staying here again next time I’m in town!
